Lodging: |
Moab, UT is the closest town to the park and allows you easy access to Arches National Park, too. No in-park lodging available. |
Meals: |
We grabbed a burger in Moab, UT, where numerous dining options are available. No in-park dining available. |
Sightseeing: |
Much more than we had time for so if you are going to be in the area do a little research to see what appeals to you. The National Park Service website (http://www.nps.gov/cany) will have everything you need to know to plan a visit. |
Good points: |
Beautiful - but we didn't have enough time to explore. |
Bad points: |
Driving the Shafer Canyon Road is not for the timid or those who are afraid of heights (like me) . Stunning views but it scared me stupid. |
Transportation: |
Self driving is the best way to get around but there are tour services available in Moab. |
Comments: |
We were driving from Green River, UT to Kayenta, AZ and this was an unexpected stop. Our time was limited so we barely scratched the surface of what this National Park has to offer. |
